Inspiring Young Leaders
Sir Peter Blake is widely recognised as one of New Zealand's greatest leaders. He believed in the incredible potential of young kiwis to achieve great things and the Young Leader Award celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding leadership within their schools and communities. In its seventh year, the Sir Peter Blake Trusts offers one Young Leader Award to a Year 5-8 student from every primary and intermediate school in New Zealand annually.
This year the Young Leader Award saw 634 students recognised for their leadership style from schools reaching every corner of New Zealand. Nominations from 2018 contained a range of inspiring stories about children who shine through their own leadership approach - be it big or bold or quiet and caring.
