Kightley coming to town

Award-winning New Zealand writer, actor and director Oscar Kighley, member of comedy group Naked Samoans, writer of Bro Town  and star of  Sione's Wedding  will be guest speaker at the upcoming Emerging Leaders Conference to be held in Christchurch.

The one-day conference will be hosted by Christ's College and will include representatives from 23 Christchurch secondary schools.  A past recipient of the Sir Peter Blake Trust Emerging Leader Award himself, Oscar Kightley will deliver the opening speech at the conference which aims to promote ambition, leadership skills and teamwork amongst young people.

Taking part in the Emerging Leaders Conference to be held Tuesday June 30 will also be Lady Pippa Blake on behalf of the Sir Peter Blake Trust and Minister of Youth Affairs, Paula Bennett who will officially open the conference. This will be followed by workshops run by Martin Snedden, Chief Executive of the Rugby World Cup 2011, and leaders from organisations including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Defence, Police, Outward Bound, Leadership New Zealand, New Zealand Institute of Management, Toastmasters, Sheffield and the YMCA.
