The Sir Peter Blake Trust has today announced the winner of the Sir Peter Blake Environmental Educator Award for 2008. The recipient is Dr Simon McMillan from Kaikorai Valley College in Dunedin.
Professor Callaghan became the third recipient of the Blake Medal at a special ceremony hosted by His Excellency, Honourable Anand Satyanand, Governor General of New Zealand at Government House in Wellington on Saturday 28 July. The ceremony was attended by Pippa, Lady Blake and her daughter Sarah Jane Blake and other dignitaries.

The fifth edition of the Sir Peter Blake Memorial Regatta hosted by the Torbay Sailing Club on Auckland’s North Shore was completed Sunday 10 December in beautiful sailing conditions. 420 sailors competed in 17 different classes with a number of families traveling from as far a field as Timaru and even New Caledonia for the regatta.
