We are
proud to announce the support of Fuji
Xerox as our new leading partner.
Fuji Xerox has a long history of
involvement with Sir Peter dating back to their significant
support of the America's Cup in 2000. They also supported the
America's Cup event in 2003 and are a current sponsor of Team
New Zealand 2007.
Fuji Xerox is the leading organisation in
the document and copying sector in New Zealand and have a
strong commitment to leading their industry in the area of
environmental sustainability. They have a strong engagement
with youth through their support of many schools and have made
a major commitment to the support of young New Zealand
leaders, through their engagement with the Sir Peter Blake
Trust. We are proud to welcome Fuji Xerox to our leading team
of three (including Westpac and the Lion Foundation). We also
thank Air New Zealand for their significant support over the
past three years and appreciate their continued involvement as
a Supporting Partner of the Trust.

New Trust
Offices
The Sir Peter Blake Trust now
has a high profile location in the heart of the area that Sir
Peter helped rejuvenate. We have moved our offices from Massey
University's Albany campus on the North Shore into the Viaduct
Harbour in downtown Auckland. With the important support of
Ross Munro and his team at Line 7, Tourism Auckland and the
New Zealand National Maritime Museum we have a great facility
to run the Trust. We are also grateful to Joel Tetro and his
team at Sign of the Times and the team at designworks for our
striking window signage - you won't miss us!
Our thanks to Massey University
for their significant support during the first three
years of the Trust's operation.

Sir Peter Blake Youth
Environment Forum
The 2007 Sir Peter Blake Youth
Environment Forum was held from 1 - 5 July in Wellington and,
once again, it proved to be an inspirational event for all
involved - student delegates, chaperones and facilitators
alike. The forum really seems to be gathering some momentum
and it was noticeable that Regional Councils are engaging more
in selecting the delegates to represent their regions at the
Forum. The result was an outstanding group of 39 young
environmental leaders from across the nation. A packed
programme featured hands on learning including tree planting
and riparian area weeding, a guided night walk at Karori Open
Sanctuary and group work on three important environmental
themes; e-waste, water and sustainable households.
The forum engaged a variety of
staff from the Ministry for the Environment and from other
agencies, such as the Department of Conservation, Greater
Wellington Regional Council, Karori Sanctuary, College of
Education, University of Canterbury, the Royal Society of New
Zealand, Vodafone NZ and Telecom NZ.
Both the Minister for the
Environment, the Honourable David Benson-Pope and the
Associate Minister for the Environment and Minister of Youth
Affairs, the Honourable Nanaia Mahuta addressed the forum.
Delegates made presentations to invited guests in Parliament
House at the culmination of the forum. A real highlight and a
programme we are all proud of.
2007 Sir Peter Blake
Leadership Awards
The 2007 Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards will be
announced at a dinner being hosted by His Excellency
Honourable Anand Satyanand the Governor General of New
Zealand on 28 July. Pippa, Lady Blake and her daughter
Sarah-Jane will be joining us from the UK to present the
awards. Check the Sir Peter Blake Trust website on 29 July for
information on the 2007 award recipients.
Finally, well done to Team New
Zealand - it was closer than the final result suggested and
they competed with integrity and determination. We are proud
of them.
Kind regards
Mark Orams, Vicki Watson and
Laura Fayerman
