The Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards
From board rooms to logging crews; from the Cabinet table to
school playgrounds, New Zealanders turn to leaders for guidance.
The Sir Peter Blake Trust continues Sir Peter's leadership legacy
by recognising inspiring leaders across all fields and
pursuits.
2013 Leadership Awards are announced on the first day of
Leadership Week on Friday 5 July. Nominations closed on 28
March.
Blake Leader Award
The Blake Leader Awards are conferred to individuals with the
determination and will to succeed and a belief in achieving
extraordinary things.
The Blake Leader will:
- Be aged between 25-40 years old, although outstanding
nominations outside this range will be accepted.
- Show outstanding leadership.
- Demonstrate the ability to build and lead successful
teams.
- Display some or all of the following
characteristics: determination and the will to succeed; belief
in achieving extraordinary things; a willingness to learn; a
desire for constant improvement; the initiative to pursue an
idea; trusting and empowering teammates; working hard; having
fun.
- Show integrity.
- Demonstrate a commitment to New Zealand (and be a New Zealand
citizen).
The Blake Medal
The Blake Medal is the premium award for outstanding
leadership achievement in New Zealand. Its purpose is to
identify, acknowledge and celebrate great New Zealand leaders who
have made an outstanding contribution to this country.
The Blake Medallist will have:
- Shown outstanding leadership over a sustained period of
time.
- Demonstrated the ability to build and lead successful
teams.
- Displayed some, or all, of the following
characteristics: determination and the will to succeed; belief
in achieving extraordinary things; a willingness to learn; a
desire for constant improvement; the initiative to pursue an
idea; trusting and empowering teammates; working hard; having
fun.
- Shown integrity.
- Demonstrated a commitment to New Zealand (and be a New Zealand
citizen).
